YHST ENJOYS SHABBATON TO CALIFORNIA

Over the weekend of Shabbos Parshas Terumah the Yeshiva High School of Tucson spent an unbelievable Shabbaton in the Golden State of California,

After a short 7 hour drive through the night the Bochrim arrived in San Diego, They Davened Shachris and ate breakfast at the Chabad Of Del Mar ‘aka’ the Ranch, they immediately packed the vans and headed for the Mexican border city of Tijuana where they saw the sights and bargained for the wares, once back in San Diego they headed for the famous ‘Nickel City’ an arcade center where a mere nickel earns you a chance on one of the many arcade games there.

After preparing for Shabbos the students settled in for an amazingly inspiring shabbos At the Chabad of Poway, San Diego hosted by the Shluchim Rabbis Goldstein and Rubenfeld.

Friday night the boys enjoyed a beautiful shabbos meal in the home of Rabbi and Mrs Mendy Rubenfeld, Shabbos morning the bochrim received a shiur from Rabbi Yossi Goldstein affectionately know as Uncle Yossi. In his address to the congregation Head Shliach to Poway Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein stressed the amazing Hashgoche Protis that this shabbos the temimim were able to spend shabbos in Poway after a week were a prominent member of the community had passed away and the boys were able to bring a joyous spirit to uplift and inspire the community, Thank yo to Rabbi Mendy Rubenfeld for inviting us and arranging our incredible stay.

Immediately after Shabbos the vans were loaded and headed for Los Angeles were the bochrim were treated to pizza and ice-cream and got to see the various sights including the famous ‘Shneerson Square

Sunday morning after Shacharis in Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon the boys were treated to a lavish breakfast at the Chabad Russian Center hosted by the lively Shliach Rabbi Naftoli Estulin who addressed the Temimim and related to them the history of the Russian community in Los Angeles and the miracle of the beautiful center that is now the spiritual home to thousands of Russian Jews, he then gave out $2 bills to each Bochur which is well known as his trademark.

Due to some very severe weather up in Running Springs the originally planned skiing trip was swiftly replaced through the hard work of the Temimim Hashluchim with an amazing day in one of California’s largest amusement parks ‘SIX FLAGS CALIFORNIA’

Half way through the day the Yeshiva gathered in the parking lot, donned hats and jackets and Davened Mincha causing a beautiful Kiddush Hashem to all those that witnessed.

After a tiring day in the park the boys headed out to Redondo Beach for a sumptuous bbq hosted by the Gorowitz family.

Once dinner was over the bochrim thanked their hosts and headed for the van for the trip back home.

A big thank you goes out to all the Shluchim who graciously hosted the Yeshiva over the weekend.

To the amazing Temimim Hashluchim who continue to outdo themselves with every deatail, and a big thank you to our Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Betzalel Wilschanski for arranging and coordinating this Shabbaton every step of the way and for his continued dedication to the each of the Temimim.

Thank you to Head Shliach to Tucson Rabbi Yossie Shemtov for his assistance in funding the trip.
